It was the end of summer 2022 when we met them for the first time. My partner and I were packing up and preparing to leave our respective nests and actually move in together, our first real experience with being adults living on our own. My darling childhood kitty, Pippin, had passed away a few years ago and I felt the deep need to have a cat to love again. I got my partner on board, who accidentally said "lets get a cat or two" which was all the confirmation I needed that two cats was on the table
It was a month before we moved out that my mom (begrudgingly) told me about her coworker finding a litter of abanoned kittens on her farm!! Julio and I went over to meet the kitties and while most were spicy little guys, we both ended up with a fuzzball each on our laps. Mine not even spanning the width of my thigh, shaking at first but chilling out once she realized I was warm and soft. She was a tiny little rat looking puffball who would become BILBO! Julio met THANATOS the same way- holding her on his lap. She was very nervous and shakey at first but relaxed and even fell asleep on his leg!! We had our kitties picked out, and the wonderful woman who found them agreed to hold onto them for a month for us as we moved in- even house training them!! The rest is history. I have these nasty little critters. They are stupid and smell bad. I love them immensely.
